Effects of climate and anthropogenic changes on current and future variability in flows in the So'o River Basin (south of Cameroon)

Abstract Due to climate and environmental changes, sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) has experienced several drought flood events in recent decades with serious consequences on the economy of sub-region. In this context, region needs enhance its capacity water resources management, based both good knowledge contemporary variations river flows reliable forecasts. The objective article was study evolution current future (near (2022–2060) distant (2061–2100)) So'o River Basin (SRB) Cameroon. To achieve this, Pettitt modified Mann–Kendall tests were used analyze hydrometeorological time series basin. Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model simulate SRB. results obtained show that for period, decrease due precipitation. For periods, a change precipitation line predictions CCCma will lead discharge basin, except under RCP8.5 scenario during second period (2061–2100), where we note an increase compared historical approximately +4%.
